Karyn giggled quietly at Jon's now serious expression.

"You are now 5'10", technically you got what you wanted" calmly explained Karyn.

"Hardy har har..." mutted Jon, struggling a bit to mantain his balance. "Fix it already, before someone sees me."

"Mmmh... I don't think so, they look really good on you" chuckled Karyn.

Jon simply rolled his eyes annoyed and leaned against the wall, reaching for the shoes.

"What are you doing?" asked Karyn.

"Taking them off, obviously." anwsered Jon, harshly. "It's embarrassing enough as it is without you helping it."

"Not if I wish you couldn't take them off! Ha!" laughed Karyn, just as Jon grabbed one of the shoes.

Jon tugged at the heel, but it didn't budge an inch. He looked up at Karyn, now with an angry expression. "Happy?" Jon asked her.

"Oh... Was I in range? Sorry, Let me fix it."

"Why? So you can make it worse? You did it on purpose!" said Jon, raising his voice.

"That's not true! I didn't know I was in range, it was all a joke! I was going to get it back to normal." explained Karyn, getting closer to Jon.

Jon simply drifted away from her along the wall. "Stay back, I don't care now. This was a really bad idea, just like when I showed the stone to you. I thought I could trust you with it, but in one second, BAM! You make a bunch of careless wishes!" yelled Jon.

"I didn't... I just..." Karyn began, but she turned around and began running away.

More calmed down, Jon just realized what he said to her best friend. "Damn, I'm such and idiot. Karyn, WAIT!" he shouted, chasing her, but it was simply no match in such footwear. After a couple of meters, he gave up with his feet aching.

"Damn it..." groaned Jon, holding his feet. "I don't know how women can stand this things"

After a minute, he stood up again and began walking back home since it looked like he would have to fix everything with the stone. He would think how to apologize to Karyn later, once he had gotten rid of the heels. The click they made on the sidewalk at each step was getting on his nerves and his feet were already aching again.

After a while he arrived to his street. Fortunately, he didn't crossed with anyone on his way there, and he was hoping that would remain that way, but then, he saw her. It was Mrs. Rose, one of his neighbours, and she was going his way. He didn't know her much, but she seemed nice the couple of times he talked to her.

Not sure what to do, he gulped and resumed his walking, now much aware of the clicking of the heels giving him away. When he reached her, he just looked down and said hi, trying to look like nothing was wrong. She returned the greeting, looking him with a weird expression as he walked away.

"I'll have to fix this too once I get a hold of the stone..." thought Jon, quickening his pace.

Once he got to his house, he went round it and looked through the kitchen window. Fortunately, it was empty. Quietly, he opened the back door and stepped inside, trying not to make any noise. Walking slowly, he thanked every superior being he could think of when he reached the corridor. More quickly this time, with the carpet muffling the heels against the floor. Going up the stairs as fast as he could, just when he was going to get to the last step, his mother stuck her head out of the bathroom door.

"Oh, Jon, I didn't hear you get in. I didn't know you were going to come this early."

"Er... something came up... I needed to come here to... to pick something for Karyn" Jon made up, his heart pounding harder than he could even remember.

"It's something wrong?" asked his mother.

"Uhm... No, not at all" shrugged Jon.

"All right" and she went inside the bathroom again, closing the door.

Jon sighed and quickly walked the last few meters to his room. Once inside, he closed the door behind him and locked it.

"At last..." let out Jon, resting his head against the door.

Much more relaxed, he calmly walked to the wall next to his wardrobe and easily took off a panel from the wall, revealing the safe behind it. He began to insert the combination, but a high-pitched beep stopped him.

"What? How? It's the correct password!" thought Jon, surprised.

Looking at the safe display, he watched dumbfounded how it flashed every few seconds between "ACCESS DENIED" and "User: Karyn Johnson".

"Karyn? But how...?" and then it suddenly struck him. She did wish for them to swap fingerprints, just before they learned she could affect his body. Now, he was stuck wearing heels and out the safe that contained the only thing that could fix this whole mess.
