Jon arrived downstairs in time to see his mother opening the door for a dark blue girl with a tail. "Hey, Karyn," Linda said in almost a growl, "come in." Jon watched in amazement as his mother turned and he got a good look at her. Although she still more or less looked the same, she had clearly put on some muscle. In addition, she was smoking a cigar and dressed in nothing but a wife beater and jeans. Karyn, on the other hand, was dark blue from head to tail (and yes, she had a devilish tail). Her hair was inexpicably blonde and she was clearly female, but other than that she looked exactly like Nightcrawler. Before Jon had a chance to react, he heard a voice that sounded remarkably like his friend Joseph speaking directly into his mind, "X-MEN, ASSEMBLE AT ONCE IN THE BRIEFING ROOM: THE BROTHERHOOD HAS STRUCK AGAIN!!"
"Let's go, kids!" Linda shouted. The next thing Jon knew, the whole family (and Karyn) were loading into the minivan and speeding to Joseph's house. After Joseph's mom let them in (Jon didn't notice anything odd about her), the group entered a hidden elevator. Minutes later, Jon was standing in a room that looked a lot like a room from the basement facility in the X-Men comics. Around the table were Linda Madison (as Wolverine), Karyn (as Nightcrawler), Zoe (who now sported angelic wings as Angel), Mikey (who had a staff and a deck of cards as Gambit), Karyn's mom Betty (who was made of solid ice and had the fun-loving fliratious attitude of Iceman), Jon's Aunt Sharon and Uncle Robert (as Jean Grey and Cyclops, respectively), and Jon's cousin Sally (whose white hair and darker complexion indicated the identity of Storm). Joseph sat in a wheelchair and was completely bald at a nearby computer console and clearly had the power and personality of Professor Xavier. Moments later, three more of Jon's friends walked in. Pete led the grouop and had a white tuft of hair in front and wore clothing on every inch of skin below the neck; he was now Rogue. Vicki, who was solid blue and much bigger than Jon remembered with a feral snout followed just behind as Beast. The final member of the group was Tim. At first Jon wasn't sure who Tim was until he noticed him walk through a protruding corner: he was Shadowcat.
"Good, the team is here," Joseph (Professor X) said, "let's begin."
