When Jon got home, he thought about something to wish for and came up with the idea of the ideal version of himself. Jon was a fairly likeable person, but there were still people that didn't get along with him very well. (Especially a girl at school that he had his eye on.) With the stone, he could become a person that people would get along with. In other words, a version of himself that they would find ideal, someone that they would like.
Of course, Jon only wanted to try it out. He didn't want it to last for the rest of his life. He decided a week would probably be enough time to fully test it out.
"I wish that for the next seven days I would change into a version of myself that would be ideal to the person who is within six feet of me and that I would always remain male." He was glad that he added on that last bit. He didn't want to turn into a girl.
After he made his wish, he left his bedroom to try out his new "ability".
