Unfortunately, the wish resulted in the stone changing the laws of physics and chemistry so that the greenhouse effect could no longer take place on Earth. Ever. Consequently, Jon and Karyn soon found themselves under hundreds of feet of glacial ice as the entire planet returned to the "snowball earth" state it had enjoyed over a billion years ago.
