Of course, even if the magic lamp was gone, it didn't mean this story was over. After all, Genie used to be John, a powerful sorcerer. And Genie still retained some memories about how to do simple magic spells. She couldn't change all of reality, like she could have when she was a genie, but she could still cast some spells.
And it was on a day about a week after she was released from the lamp and made human that she had discovered a book of spells at an antique store in town. Sitting on the patio behind her "new" house, Genie looked through the dusty old book. Rachel and Josephine were out having lunch together, giving Genie some alone time. But she wasn't quite alone. A couple of her neighbors were out doing yard work, and they just couldn't help themselves from making snide remarks about Genie and her lesbian wives, even though Genie was within earshot of them. Ticked off by her neighbors' attitude towards her and her wives, Genie looked through the book more determinedly, hoping to find a spell to use on those annoying neighbors.
