John let the girl in, finding out that he watched her for his neighbor a few doors down, who apparently would be up shortly. John assumed this meant the mother was another of his new friends, but he could be wrong about that. Cassandra smiled at the girl and introduced herself.
He thought this was going well, even for all the little blips and mess ups in wording.
Then there was a banging on his door.
"Shit," John uttered, realizing the orb wasn't back here yet. He wondered if it was going to wait til it got a fifth person. Well that could be a problem for John if whoever was behind the door meant him harm.
"Who is it?" John called out, leaning towards the door's peephole.
