Kimberly was about to tell her youngest daughter that she had her purse, but then she remembered. That wasn't Kimberly's purse. It was Alexis' ... right?
Something about that seemed strange. But she just shrugged it off and said "Megan, give Alexis back her purse."
"My what?" Alexis asked, spinning around. "Oh, right," she said, grabbing the purse from her little sister. She then fished out the house keys and headed up to the front door, unlocking it a moment later.
All five family members filed into the house, but once inside, they headed off to areas of the house that would normally seem odd to them, but right now, felt totally natural.
Scott, the father, headed straight to Megan's bedroom, wanting to play with his daughter's dollies. Kimberly, the mother, headed straight to Alexis' bedroom, wanting some alone time so she could text her friends without interruption. Alexis, meanwhile, headed straight to the laundry room, intending on getting some washing done. Cody headed to the family room to watch the ballgame on TV. And Megan headed to Cody's bedroom to surf the internet on Cody's laptop computer.
