Upon entering his office, Nick froze, seeing the stranger sitting behind his desk. At first, he thought the man looked like an older gentleman, but then he realized that the man wasn't much older than he was. "Who are you?" Nick asked.
The man stood up and straightened out his suit, then looked down at a device in his hand, before looking back up at Nick. "So you're the cause of the disturbances."
"Disturbances?"
"Yes, the changes to reality."
"You ... you noticed them?" Nick asked. No one but himself has ever noticed the changes in reality before, unless he specifically told someone to notice them. But he had never met this guy before.
"Yes. And now I'm going to fix what you did."
"Fix it? You mean you ..."
"That's right. I can change reality too," the man said. "But unlike you, I've been around a lot longer. According to my readings, you've only been doing this for a few years. I've been doing it for decades. Believe me, I'm much older than I look."
