Actually, Dr. Susan Mitchell wasn't bad to look at. She appeared to be in her thirties and in pretty good shape. She was no supermodel, of course, but she was attractive. A ring on her finger told Nick that she was married.
"Sorry," Susan said, lugging in a couple of bags and her briefcase. "I had to take care of some business with Luke, before he headed off to work." Nick assumed that Luke was her husband. He was all-powerful, yes, but not all-knowing. But that made things more interesting, right? He never knew exactly what the outcome of his changes would be. Even after they happen. Sometimes he wished he could know these people's entire lives, because of his changes, but his power didn't work like that. He could manipulate reality, but nothing else.
The "new" therapist turned and saw Nick and Mel waiting. "Who's first?"
Candy was about to say that Nick was, but Nick spoke first. "Oh, I'm not here for a session."
"Then why are you here?" Dr. Mitchell asked.
"I'm Candy's boyfriend. I'm sure she's told you about me."
"Oh, yes. It's Nick, right?"
"That's right."
"Then, I just have ... one client this morning?" Susan asked Candy.
"Yes. But this afternoon, you have two more."
Susan nodded, then waved the butch and possibly lesbian girl to come with her into her office. "Come on in, Mel," she said. Before the door closed, Nick could hear the therapist say something about the fact the Mel has been getting into fist fights at school. Wow, she definitely changed.
Nick looked over at Candy, who now thought that he was her boyfriend. He briefly wondered what happened to her husband, if she even had one (remember that Willy was her son, now), then he approached her and gave her a quick kiss. "I'll be back later, hon," he said. "Maybe we could grab some lunch together?"
"Sure. That'd be great," Candy said, smiling.
Nick smiled back, then left the building. It was time to head somewhere else.
