"What sort of changes?" Robert asked.
"Well, for starters, you'll make me your partner in the company," Rachel said, clutching the crystal.
"Of course. What else?" Robert asked. Wait, what did he say?
"Can I get you anything to drink, ma'am?" Angela asked, interrupting. Why was she being so nice to this woman? And why was she still calling her ma'am?
"Actually, I'd love to have some champagne. It's only appropriate, since we are celebrating my new job at your husband's company."
"Of course," Angela said. "Let me go get it for you." Then she headed out of the room and towards the kitchen. Why was she doing this herself? Shouldn't she get the maid to do it? And why was she even doing it at all? There was nothing to celebrate about. After all, who did this woman think she was? She can't just come to her house and demand to be Robert's partner. Could she?
"While your wife is out of the room, let's talk business," Rachel said.
"Alright," Robert said. What was happening? He couldn't believe that he had actually agreed to make this woman a full partner in his company. And now he was indulging her even further? Why was he doing this?
