31-year old Robert Brown watched as the boat he was on approached the island. Earlier, it only looked like a green blur on the horizon, but now it was vast. Beaches with almost-white sand, towering hills filled with green jungles ... a tropical paradise.
"It almost looks like that island from Jurassic Park," he said to his wife.
"Yeah, except no dinosaurs." Samantha sighed. "This getaway is gonna be so perfect."
Nearby, on the other said of the ship, a 13-year old boy was whining to his parents. "Why do we have to go here? I wanted to go to Fun Land World."
His mother shushed him. "Thomas, this will be just as fun, I promise. There's hiking, swimming, boating ..."
"It sounds more like summer camp," Thomas said, crossing his arms across his chest and looking grumpy.
"Just try to get along and make the best of it, okay?" his mother said.
A few minutes later, they docked with the island and everyone got off the boat. Standing on the dock, Robert and Samantha could see the resort building, standing tall amongst the trees. It was maybe a half a mile away. Oddly, there were no other buildings in sight. Maybe they were on the other side of the island?
Robert and Samantha looked around them and saw that thirteen other people had left the boat with them. They all looked as confused as Robert and his wife were. The boat had already left. So where were the people welcoming them to the island resort? Were they just supposed to walk to the resort building by themselves? The boat basically just dumped them on the island and then left.
So what now?
