Lab Assistant Joseph Byron paced in his lab, awaiting the results of his boss.
Just at this moment Dr. Darius Helstrom burst into the room.
"EUREKA! I FOUND IT!" He shouted. "At last! A way to put my body switcher to productive use to better mankind!"
"So, finally swapping the brains of the terminally ill into healthy but braindead bodies?" Joseph suggested.
"Poppycock!" Darius Scoffed. "I have a better idea! I will remove the the one problem facing the transgendered people today."
"So you'll gender swap them so they live in the body they feel is right?" Joseph suggested drolly, sometimes his employers detachment from reality got to him.
"No fool!" Darius said. "the real issue is they are made to feel both their mind and body do not match! The problem isn't with them, it is with society. My studies show brains swapped keep their identity gender and sexuality wise regardless of body. The answer is clear. I will swap boy and girl babies at birth. Have the MtF ones raised as girls and the FtM ones raised as boys. They will be raised seperately of course to avoid confusion. They will be cut off from mainstream society. Media will be edited so MtF's will watch both gender roles played by men, and FtM's will see them both played by women. No cues will tell them their body is wrong. They will be raised as their mental gender but be made to accept their physical gender as normal for their mental gender. Their will be no depression, angst, or anxiety over it. it will be perfect."
"But who will raise them?" Joseph asked.
"depends on my budget, swapped parents will be ideal but they will have to accept both their physical and mental identity which is unlikely in our society. failing that maybe unpassing transgenders. the budget will decide how far I can go with that."
But that was 23 years ago... this is now...
