They didn't have too long to wait, however. After only a few seconds of confusion and fear, two odd-looking ... well, aliens ... appeared out of nowhere. They each looked identical, but nothing like David's family had ever seen. They were only vaguely humanoid in shape. Actually, what they looked like were two giant silver bowling pins with two arms with hands and a pair of flipper-type feet at the bottom of their forms. There was no face, but David assumed that the top of the alien's body was where the head was. Oh, and another thing ... they weren't actually standing in the room. Instead, they seemed to hover just an inch off the floor. Was the levitation hereditary ... or did they use some sort of technology for that?
"What do you want?" Steven asked.
They didn't answer and David didn't really know how they could. They had no mouth to talk with. Perhaps they were telepathic? Or maybe they didn't communicate at all. These were alien beings. It made sense that humans might not comprehend them. They might just be ... well, too alien.
The Watson family looked at each other uneasily, waiting for whatever these two beings had planned for them. Whatever it was, though, David had a feeling that the aliens were up to no good.
