"I'm pleased to announce that you've all made wonderful choices. I honestly didn't expect everybody to choose so wisely, but I must say I'm very happy with the results." And with that, the voice cut out. David's family waited a moment to see if Dr. Gilmore would say anything else, but that was it.
"So... that's it," Andy said "we all made the right choice Dr. Gilmore's going to leave us alone now!" David watched his family rejoicing, but something niggled at him.
"I'm not so sure, he didn't actually say we made the right choice. Just that he was happy with the results. Could he still be playing with us?"
"Um, David, look around," his father said, standing up and smoothing out his skirt. "Do you, like, see anything wrong with this picture? Everything is normal again. As soon as I put my bra on I knew that this was the right choice. It made perfect sense."
"Oui d'accord," Andy agreed. "If I had picked the wrong thing, how would I have known how to put on this bustier?"
David quirked his head, he felt the same way when he'd made his choice. But there was something about Dr. Gilmore's choice of words that made him uneasy. What didn't help was that up until this point, he hadn't realized just how much of his own life he couldn't remember ,it was all a vague blur. It was as if his identity was intimately tied up with the type of clothes he wore. Now, things were starting to come back to him.
His mother belched deeply. "Well, now that all that drama is over, I'm gonna go watch the game." She stood up adjusted her boxers and left for the living room, leaving her dirty plate behind.
"I'll start clearing up!" Andy said, stilettos clicking loudly on the linoleum as he collected up the plates and made sure that as he bent to put them into the dishwasher his stocking tops and panties were on display.
After all the chaos of the last few days seeing his family falling back into their normal routine, David couldn't help but smile. He just wished his brother wasn't quite the exhibitionist, sometimes it's better not to flaunt it. As he finished his orange juice he tried to remember what he would normally be doing right now? As if on cue his father said "Um, with everything that's gone on this morning I'm pretty sure I've missed the bus, could you, like, drop me off?"
"Sure thing sweetie, just let me get my purse and keys" he said fondly "it'll give us a bit of guy time."
