"That David is such a sweetheart to drive you up here," Ben said as the two made their way to the tennis courts.
"Such a doll," Andy said, feeling the pleats of her skirt bounce against her tan, womanly thighs. "I wish his car was nicer, though."
Ben giggled, "Yeah. And he could put a little more effort into how he dresses." She paused a moment, imagining David in some tight designer jeans and a handsome haircut.
"I know what you mean! But he's still one of the most eligible bachelors in town," Andy said, not quite realizing that her former brother was now the ONLY bachelor in town.
"Speaking of, do you know if he's... taking anyone to the gala tonight?" Ben asked, somewhat expectantly.
Andy gave her a sideways glance. "Cool it sister, with any luck I'll be the one on his arm tonight!" Well, hopefully I'll be on more than just his arm she thought.
"So you're saying he hasn't committed yet?"
"Ugh, no," Andy admitted, "But it's not like I haven't been flirting!"
"And it's not like you don't have the goods, babe!" Ben said as he reached up and gave Andy's tits a squeeze. A day ago, Ben would've been bursting out of his pants getting so close to a pair of boobs - now it was just a playful farce, the only second thought comparing their size and pertness to his own.
Andy playfully swatted Ben's hands away. "And it's not like he hasn't been looking either!"
"Is that so? Well, I bet I can get him to take me to the gala instead."
"Oh yeah? Want to put money on that?" It seemed the two friends' competitive nature hadn't changed, though the goals certainly had.
"How about $5000?"
"Pssh, chump change. But easy money."
"Well, that's not the biggest prize of the night, if you know what I mean!"
"Oh, it is on now, slut!" Andy said with a wink and a smile.

Meanwhile, Steve was on her way out the door. She gave a quick, unromantic peck on the cheek to the woman that had been her wife. Sure, Denise was content to flit around the house all day, and she had the trust fund to support it. But Steve had too much drive to be a homebody.
She listened to her stilettos click on the pavement as she walked to her black Mercedes. Each step made her feel powerful, the embodiment of strength through grace. Her pencil skirt wrapped around her thighs, her silky blouse flouncing just slightly across her torso. Everything felt right.
She slid into the leather driver's seat and fired up the engine. Steve twisted the rear view mirror and ran a hand through short cropped, salt-and-pepper hair. She looked at her square jaw line and hesitated. Something was wrong.
Steve thought hard. What was it? Her clothes were right. Her body was perfect, as always. She wondered if she was starting to grow weary of the rat race. She tried to think back to her childhood... when she was just a boy. What did he dream about then?
No... that wasn't right either. There was no boyhood, never was. Steve couldn't remember being anything but the confident, gorgeous woman he'd always been. She had her looks, her wealth, and her drive to keep being her elegant, elite self. That was all that mattered. Well, that plus one other thing.
She pulled the German car out onto the street as she thought about that other thing. A smile crept onto her lips as she thought about David. She felt so lucky to have him around, and felt a pang of jealousy when he went along with Andy this morning.
Sure, Andy was gorgeous - she certainly couldn't blame David. But Steve knew her game all too well. All the bitches in this town had the body and maybe even knew the script. But Steve was the whole package. She just needed a bit of time with David. Not to flirt, oh no no. That was child's play. The only item on today's menu: seduction.
At the first traffic light Steve pulled her phone from her purse and let her French-tipped thumb glide across the screen.
Meet me for lunch.
Cafe Verona, noon.
It's important. xo
That would get David's attention. And being seen at a posh restaurant with one of the most important men in town would get most everyone in town to back off. The light turned green and Steve sped off toward the office. He was already hungry.
