The machines in the lab were humming. Both David and Dr. Miller sat around anxiously. Dr. Miller couldn't move his still flabby body and David was too scared to do anything.
"What do we do now?!" David said, panicking in his chair. "Dr. Gilmore could do anything to us!!"
"Right, but he hasn't made a move yet. The defense network might be running again. Can you check the computers?" Dr. Miller said, still stuck in his chair.
With guidance from the school girl doctor David ran to the terminal and checked the status of the machines. "It says power is back to 35%."
"Good, now allocate all the power to this lab, and we should be safe." Dr. Miller said.
David carefully typed away as not to make a mistake. With the computers whizzing and buzzing David felt a wash of calmness fall over him. Power was almost back to full charge. "I think I got it, sir!"
"Please, don't call me sir." Dr. Miller said, with calm in his voice as well. "Call me Ed!"
Dr. Miller still had his feminine body, but now he could pick himself up from the chair. His gooey composure was still apparent as his limbs and waist bent and flopped strangely. David felt a little shame this weird display was a turn on, there was still technically a naughty school girl. Even though Ed's cranium was attached to it David still felt himself getting turned on. Ed's walk was difficult with his loose legs and flapping arms, but he managed to make his way to the terminal with David. He tried his best to keep his flexible fingers in control as he typed some more commands in. "Things are getting better, but I still need more power to correct myself. Let's hope I have a save state somewhere of my old body, as for you mister, we need to get you prepped!" Ed said, turning his attention to David.
"Prepped?! For what??" David said, trying his hardest to take Ed seriously as his shoulders limped and his head tilted on his flimsy neck.
"Yes, you need to find that Dr. Gilmore and save this town. I had an experiment ready to use and you're the perfect volunteer." Ed pulled up some files. "I had a resistance shield in the works in case of an event like this. It's like a mobile version of the defense system I have set up here."
"Ooookay." David said, still loosing his train of thought to Ed's body. "Do I wear some dorky helmet or lug a computer around?"
"Hah, as if." Ed laughed. "It's all in your head, the network that is. It works off your neurons, and seeing as you had enough resistance to make it here that means your brain must be better than average."
"Oh, well thanks!" David said with a smile.
"I ain't flirting here, silly boy." Ed said as his head flopped over the other shoulder. "Means you got a thick skull."
"Oh." David replied.
"I'm going to do a little test run. You might feel a tingling sensation." Ed told David as he hit enter.
David started to get a little woozy and soon passed out. When he awoke he saw....
