A few seconds later, after Laura was completely alone in the room, with that weird humming sound still vibrating all around her, she heard a voice. It was coming from the other side of one of the walls.
"Hello?" the voice asked. "Is someone there?"
"I'm here!" Laura yelled, hoping the person could hear her. "Please, I need help! They're doing something to me!"
"They did something to me too," the voice said. "But I won't give in. I won't betray my planet."
"Planet? What do you mean?" Laura asked the voice.
"I'm talking about Earth," the voice said. "I won't let those alien bastards get any information out of me. I'll die before I give them anything."
"Aliens?"
Suddenly, the door opened and the light was switched on. One of the orderlies/thugs walked in. "I see you've met Subject Number Three. The doc gave him false memories of an impending alien invasion from outer space. It's all ridiculous, but the guy actually believes it all. He even thinks he's being held captive on a spaceship." Seeing the look on Laura's face, he laughed. "But don't worry. The doc has something more realistic for you."
The thuggish-looking man sat down on a nearby chair and opened a folder.
"Now, I'm going to ask you a few questions."
