After Laura entered the restroom, she stopped and looked at herself in the mirror. Were her eyes always green-colored? She had this weird feeling that they were supposed to be blue. But that was ridiculous, right? Her eyes were always green. And her hair ... did it seem darker?
She shook her head, thinking she must been seeing things. Her hair was always that dark.
Laura smiled at herself, seeing how pretty she looked. She never really took the time to just look. With her Latino-toned skin, she looked fairly stunning. But she always tried to downplay it by wearing no make-up and ultra-conservative clothes. She was a good Baptist woman. She didn't live in the same world as the rest of her ethnic group. Speaking of her ethnic group, she was so glad that she wasn't the only Latino woman in her church. There was one other and her name was Serena Garcia. Because they were from the same ethnic background, they both became fast friends. At least, that's what Laura's memories told her. In truth, Serena was still living in the former reality, where Laura barely paid her any attention. Of course, if Serena were affected by the ring, that might change, but as it was, Laura was only friends with Serena in her mind.
She quickly used the toilet, then washed her hands, then left the restroom. Margaret must have been fairly impatient by then. Laura had kept her waiting long enough.
And a moment later, she was outside, walking towards Margaret's car ... in her three-inch heels.
