"Well, actually, I was thinking about burning them," Laura said.
"Burning them? But that's what David did. It turned Grace and him into ..."
"Yes," Laura said, cutting Margaret off. "But when it happened, you weren't affected, right? Even though you were in the same building?"
"What are you thinking?"
"I'm thinking that if we set them up to burn after we leave the room, maybe even the house, just to be on the safe side, then they might get destroyed and we won't be affected by them."
Margaret thought for a moment, then nodded. It sounded like a good plan. And if it didn't work, they could just figure out some other way to destroy them. There had to be some way to do it.
So, after setting up a "delay burn" using a fuse, the two women rushed out of the garage and then the house.
As they stood on the front lawn near the street, Margaret checked her watch, then turned towards Laura. "They should be burning right now."
