As he watched Laura and Margaret set up the Children's Bible School display, Pastor David White couldn't help but admire Laura's new look. He was by no means lusting after her, of course. He was a married man, not to mention the pastor of this church. But he saw no problem in just looking. He liked her new choice in tops and skirts, but he especially liked her choice in shoes. Her new 3-inch heels did an admirable job at sticking her butt out a little more than usual. Laura did indeed have quite a fantastic body. It was nice to see her have clothing that exemplified it, instead of hiding it.
Whenever Laura noticed him looking at her, she flashed him a smile. And that made him smile too. He didn't know why, but suddenly he felt ...
Margaret coughed suddenly, breaking David out of his thoughts. He looked in her direction and saw a scowl on her face. "What?" he asked.
"You know what. What are you two up to? You know I'm standing right here," she said, clearly angry about something.
"I don't know what you mean," David said.
"Don't play dumb. I saw how you two were looking at each other."
"You're imagining things," David said.
"Stop it. I don't know what you two are up to, but it stops right now." She marched over to Laura and grabbed her arm. "I think it's time for you to leave."
"But we're not done putting up the display," Laura complained.
"I'll finish it myself. Now go."
Laura glanced over at David, then shrugged. "Okay, fine." Then she walked down the hall towards the exit.
As she walked, David kept a close eye on her. Yeah, those shoes really did make her look better. And the way her hips swayed back and forth as she moved ...
"David!" Margaret yelled.
His eyes darted away from Laura's swaying hips and towards his wife, who looked even angrier than before.
"What's gotten into you? Were you just checking her out? Good Lord, you're better than that!"
David shook his head, clearing it. She was right, of course. Without even thinking about it, he really was checking Laura out ... sexually. But why?
Then suddenly, it came to him. It was that dildo. The one that was in his safe. Could it be affecting his judgment? It was certainly a possibility. But how come it wasn't affecting Margaret? He thought some more and came to the conclusion that it only affected people who touched it. And right now, that was just him and Laura.
He had to try and put an end to this. Right now. He thought he could just wait until he made contact with the right kind of person who took care of these sorts of things, but if his condition got any worse, he might lose himself completely and not even want to fix things. No, he had to deal with it now. Not later.
"Well?" Margaret asked, impatiently wanting an answer.
"You're right," he said. "I was checking her out and I'm sorry. But I can fix this."
"After what you just did, I'm not sure how," she said, thinking of her marriage.
"No, you don't understand. Laura came to me with a cursed object. She wanted me to destroy it, but I couldn't. I mean, I didn't know how to do it and make sure it was destroyed."
"What are you babbling on about?" she asked.
He shook his head. "Never mind. I ... I'll be in my office," he said, before heading down the hall.
