Jacqueline stepped out of the cafe, and out of the warm smell of coffee, to take in a new scent.
The night air, heavy with the smell of the water, was now like an intoxicating salted licorice to her new heightened sense of smell. It was wonderful.

She touched a finger to the stone in her pocket, eager to get this show on the road:

"Ah weesh zere was some marvelous jewel worth makeeng off weeth on deesplay in zee city. I also weesh zat I will have ze first eenkling of 'ow to go about deescovering it."

She paused. Jacqueline had been expecting something obvious. Some new memory of large banners proudly advertising an emerald the size of a babies head at the natural history museum. And yet, nothing of the sort.

Scanning her memories, all she had was the new memory that she had a moped.

Turning the corner into the alleyway by the cafe, she found, as she knew to expect, a wine-red moped, colored as to fashionably match her tail and outfit.

It was certainly shiny, and fit her new sophisticated vibe... but Jacqueline wasn't quite sure how it was supposed to help her find her intended prize. She opened one of the large leather pouches fastened to it's side, and dug through the contents.

She wrapped the red scarf around herself as soon as she found it. It was exactly what her outfit needed, and, she felt, fully finished the thief vibe. at the bottom of the bag however, underneath a catwoman comic, was...

"Sacre blu~!" Her face split into a grin as she lifted up the grappling hook pistol. "Zees cannot possibly work, no?" She was pretty sure such a device was completely impractical in reality, but she knew it was here because it fit her idea of who the new her was. The stone was tricky like that, pulling primarily from her internal assumptions.

AS expected, when fired, it bounced clumsily off the wall, it's weight rendering it nowhere near capable of working. But then... why should that matter?

"Ah weesh thees grappling deevice would work exactly as one would expect eet to een a cartoon."

She couldn't restrain the little wiggle of excitement. She fired again, and this time, the hook fired in a perfect line upwards, catching with a stock-perfect 'kachunk!' noise on the roof of the cafe. She tugged on the line to make sure it was firmly in place, and then moved to start climbing the wall. Then she stopped.

Silently, she pushed the 'retract' button on the gun, and felt it begin to rapidly wind up, pulling her gracefully upward with it.

Reality was putty in her hands. Physics and logic themselves were her bitches. Jacqueline couldn't contain the manic glee that splayed itself across her features as she defied gravity and zipped upward, flipping when she reached the top and landing neatly on the roof on her feet.

"GRAP'PLING HOOK!" She burst out shouting, raising both hands in the air. Seemed even her new demeanor couldn't hold her back from geeking out about something like this. The adrenaline of reshaping the universe had her hopped up, and, admiring the view from up on the roof, she at once took off running, leaping over the alley with her scarf, hair, and tail all trailing cinematically behind her. Her new toned muscles could just do that. That was the kind of ninja nonsense that Jon had always thought would be cool, but for Jacqueline, it was reality!

Cackling to herself, she took off with another jump, bounding and grappling across the the waterfront district...
