Sarah grabbed the pink-colored phone from her purse and answered it.
"Hello?" she asked, not recognizing the caller ID.
"Is dis Sarah?" asked the girl over the phone. Sarah immediately knew who it was. It was that ghetto trash black girl Lashawndra Jones from school. For some reason, she wanted Sarah to be friends with her. Yeah right. Like that would ever happen. Sarah didn't hate black people. Allison Wright was black and she was on the cheerleading squad just like Sarah and was even one of Sarah's friends. But at least Allison acted like the other cheerleaders and not some ghetto hoe or something.
"Yeah, this is Sarah. How did you get my number?" she demanded to know.
"It ain't dat hard to find out. Now, what about what ah said about us ..."
"Listen, there is no 'us'. And there never will be. I'd never hang out with you even if we were the last two girls on the planet. It would totally ruin my image. So, just leave me alone, you ..."
The phone line suddenly went dead.
"Hmph," Sarah uttered, putting the phone back in her purse. "Bitch."
Later that evening, the doorbell rang. Sarah opened the door, but no one was there. There was, however, a small box on the ground. She picked it up and brought it inside. She looked at the time. She was going to meet her friends at the mall soon. But she had just enough time to see what was in the box.
She opened it and saw a smoothly-polished green-colored stone (about two inches in diameter) inside. "What the hell?" she uttered, not sure why someone would send something like this to her house.
Sarah reached into the box, intending to grab it and inspect it a bit closer.
