Cursing to himself, Derek sat up and looked at what he tripped over. It was an old oil lamp, like the one in that movie Aladdin. Except that this one was dusty, scratched and a little rusty. He picked it up and looked at it. Why was it just sitting in the middle of the sidewalk? Who left it there?
Thinking he saw writing stenciled into the side of it, he rubbed it, trying to clear away the dirt and grime. When he did, the antique began to shake!
"What the ..."
Shocked, he dropped the lamp to the sidewalk, as it continued to shake and spin around. Was there something in there? Then, just as he wondered that, a pillar of billowing smoke poured out of it and into the air.
And then she was there. The most beautiful young woman he had ever seen. And one that would most definitely never be interested in someone like him: a friendless emo boy.
The blond woman in the red and gold silk dress nodded towards him and smiled. "How may I serve you, Master?"
Derek smiled, something he rarely did. As unbelievable as it seemed, this appeared to be a real genie. And a real genie meant one important thing: three wishes.
