"Since when do you refer to your dad by his first name?" Jon asked Karyn.
His friend looked confused. "Dad? Edward isn't my dad."
"Definitely not," Edward whispered sexily into his daughter's ear, while still feeling her up. "But wouldn't that be so hot?" Jon tried to ignore him.
"What? Karyn, he's been your dad for as long as I can remember. Are you saying he adopted you or something?"
"Jon, I really have no idea what you're talking about. Edward is my lover. He's been my lover for at least two years now."
Could this actually be true? How could it be? Was he just lucky enough not to notice until now? He shook his head. No, this couldn't be true. He knew Karyn and her family. Her father acted like a father. Not some boyfriend. This just didn't make any sense.
"Okay, then," Jon said, humoring her for a moment. "If he isn't your father, then who is?"
