"Karyn, who is your master?" Jon asked.
She looked confused. "Jon, you know our master is Steve."
"Steve?" Jon asked, getting a twinge of discomfort in his gut, thinking he might already know who she was talking about. "Steve who?"
"Well, Steve Farber, of course," Bethany said.
"That womanizing jerk is your master?" Jon nearly yelled.
Karyn and her mother suddenly looked shocked and also very hurt.
"Master Steve isn't a jerk," Karyn said. "He's the most loving person I know. I adore him."
"As do I," Bethany said.
Jon stared at them. How was he going to fix this? Karyn didn't like Steve at all. What exactly did Steve do to her?
