Reaching under his bed (where he kept a lot of his private things, like valuables and porn magazines), Jon pulled out his inheritance, which was his grandfather's coin collection. He remembered his grandfather showing it to him when he was younger, telling him that it was one of his most precious possessions, although Jon wasn't sure why. They were just a bunch of old coins. At the time, Jon's most prized possessions were his video games.
But now, he was a little older and could better appreciate what his grandfather had. Plus, realizing the value of something like this meant that he could pawn it off for a large sum of money, if he found the right buyer. But, of course, he wasn't planning on doing that.
