Dr. Singer held out his hand and touched a pencil that was sitting on the lab table. He closed his eyes and within seconds, the pencil became a darkish brown color. The doctor then picked up the pencil and stuck it in his mouth. Then he bit down on it.
"What is that?" Tom asked.
"Chocolate. You want any?"
"Wait, that's your power? You can turn things into chocolate?"
"Well, what were you expecting? Super strength and laser vision?"
"Actually, yeah. Turning things into chocolate ... that seems kind of lame."
"Well, I can't choose what ability I get. But even so, this isn't a bad power to have. I know that I'll never starve to death." He bit off another piece of the chocolate pencil. "Thank god I'm not lactose intolerant."
"Does it taste good? I mean, like normal chocolate?" Tom asked.
"Better than normal chocolate. Are you sure you don't want to try it?"
"Well, I don't know. Maybe just a little?"
Dr. Singer smiled, then broke off the part of the chocolate pencil that used to be the eraser end. He gave it to Tom, who then ate it.
