"I used the Other Side drug." The twenty-year old guy did a spin, then smiled at Rick. "I'm one hundred percent male now."
"But why? Why would you do something like this?"
The male Steph frowned. "What do you mean? I thought you told me you wanted me to use it."
"What? Why would I tell you to get a sex change? I'm not gay," Rick said.
"Yeah, I know that. But in your e-mail you said that you'd use it too. This was a mutual agreement."
"I never sent you an e-mail, Steph." He turned away for a moment. "Ugh, can I even call you that anymore?"
"I'd prefer it. But if it's uncomfortable for you, call me Steve. It's close enough."
Rick sat down on the living room sofa and dropped his head into his hands. "I can't believe this is happening."
Steph, or rather Steve, sat down next to Rick and put his arm around him. "It's okay. I can just take the drug again and turn back."
Rick removed his hands from his face and looked at Steve. "I don't think it works that way. I think it's permanent."
"But you said in the e-mail that it wasn't."
"Steph ... Steve ... how many times do I have to tell you? I didn't send you an e-mail about this."
"But it came from your e-mail address."
"It wasn't me."
