Dr. Harold Singer glided towards his lab table with a practiced finesse, one that he had developed over the past many years. What was held inside the flask was too important to drop. If his calculations were correct, this potion could change the world ... or destroy it. He just had to make sure it stayed in the right hands.
BANG
Harold cringed at the sound of the door slamming and looked over his shoulder. "I told you to always be quiet and careful in my lab!" he shouted.
"Sorry, Dr. Singer," the young man said. It was his lab assistant Thomas Redding. Tom was nineteen and a college freshman with a devoted interest in chemistry. Despite his lack of finesse in the lab, though, he was a very fine and competent assistant. Plus, being so young, he didn't usually question what the good doctor was up to.
Harold sighed, then looked back at the pale red liquid in the flask. "I think I've finally done it."
"Really? Uh ... what did you do?"
He held up the flask to show Tom and then explained. "In this flask, is something revolutionary. It could be used for good or evil."
"Well, what is it? What does it do?" Tom asked.
"If someone drinks just one sip of this liquid, the person will ..."
