It was a world populated by centuars, rather than humans. Jon's mom, Susan, came home from yet another date and yet another rejection.
She managed to get to the bathroom before she started crying. She didn't want her children to see her like this. She looked at herself in the mirror. At 40, she was still an attractive woman. She didn't wear clothing, but then no one else did either. Her curly black hair went almost down to her shoulders, complementing the chestnut coat of her horse half. Her dd-cup breasts hardly sagged at all. Despite having given birth to four children, her figure was excellent and she was still young enough to have more.
Three years ago, she and her husband had gotten divorced. Susan had gotten custody of the children. Fortunately, with her sucessful career, she didn't have to worry about money. It was only in the past year that she had started dating again and it seemed to be one rejection after another. Of all the men she had met who would have made wonderful husbands for her and fathers for her children, none of them had worked out.
Dammit, she sobbed. Why do men always seem to feel turned off by a woman with children? Why is that so threatening? This last date didn't even have children of his own. She still could have given him chidren. Tears ran down her cheeks. Normally so confident and self-assured, she openly wept. It was just too much. She wanted a husband so badly and with so many rejections piled on top of her divorce, she wondered if she was ever going to find Mr. Right.
