"This doesn't look like a place to get perfume," Sister Christina remarked, as they entered the store.
"It's not. It's a shoe store," Norton said.
"A shoe store?" Sister Katherine said. "Norton, you said you were going to buy us some ..."
"And I am," Norton said, interrupting her. "It's just that I think you two need some new shoes."
"And what exactly is wrong with the ones we're wearing?" Sister Katherine asked.
"Well, first of all, they're so plain. And second of all, they clash with your new outfits. Wouldn't you rather have your outfits looking more uniform? I thought nuns liked uniformity and order."
"Well, we do, but that doesn't mean that we need new shoes," Sister Katherine said.
Norton shrugged. "Suit yourself, but I think a pair of high heels would look great on you two."
"High heels?" Sister Christina asked. "We're not really into that sort of thing."
"Yes, she's right," Katherine said. "But ... maybe you're right about having new shoes. These really don't match our outfits."
Norton smiled. Just like clockwork, the nuns agreed with his suggestion, yet again.
"Yeah, we should get something that matches better," Christina said.
They looked around a little and found a newer version of the shoes they were already wearing.
"You want those?" Norton asked.
"Well ... actually ..." Katherine said, suddenly feeling unsure about it. "Maybe we should have something with a higher heel."
"Okay, then," Norton said, walking to the other side of the store. "How about these?"
The two nuns stared at the five-inch heels. One pair was black and the other was white. "Are you serious?" Katherine asked, clearly shocked. "We can't wear those."
"Why not? They're high heels, just like you wanted."
"We didn't mean that high."
"But you like them, don't you?" Norton asked. "I mean, it's the kind of shoes that women should always wear."
"Well ..." Katherine said, thinking about it. And the more she thought about it, the more she realized that those really were the type shoes she wanted. They were women's shoes and women should always wear them. And why not? They were made for women, after all.
And a few minutes later, the two nuns left the shoe store in their new 5-inch heels. The first time they put them on, they had trouble walking in them, but after a few suggestions (that the more time they walked in them, the more experienced they'd be at walking with such a high heel), they walked in them like they had been walking in them for most of their lives. And they seemed to like walking in them too.
As did Norton, who enjoyed watching their hips sway in a much more feminine manner.
