For the last couple of weeks, he had been tracking (some people might say stalking) the woman that he wanted to test his nanobots on. He didn't know her name, but she looked like a very important person. Maybe some sort of CEO, corner office corporate type of woman. She always seemed a little too cold, too stiff, too in control. But given her job, it probably came with the lifestyle.
It was this woman that he was now looking at.
From his house, he walked five blocks, all the way to downtown. He watched her walking out of one of the office buildings. She was dressed in a conservative white blouse, gray skirt suit, and black three-inch heels. But despite how she dressed and acted, she was a very beautiful woman. If only she could loosen up a bit.
Norton smiled. "That shouldn't be a problem now," he muttered to himself.
He knew where she lived, sort of. An apartment building not too far from the office. It was a high-rise and Norton always imagined that someone like her owned the penthouse suite, or at least lived in the upper part of the building.
Anyway, just outside this building was where he met her.
"Excuse me," she said coldly. "You're in my way."
"Oh, sorry," Norton said, stepping aside. As she passed, he quickly dabbed some of the goo on the back of her neck. It was easy to do, since her hair was put up in a sort of hair bun hairstyle, adding to her overall uptight appearance.
She turned towards him suddenly, thinking that he touched her neck, but not knowing why he would do it, and was about to say something about it. But before she could, Norton uttered the passcode.
The woman suddenly stood straight ahead, rigidly, with a blank look in her eyes.
Norton smiled. "Which apartment is yours?" he asked.
"Apartment 38A," she said, in a monotone voice.
Not the penthouse, but only a few floors from it.
"Come on," Norton said, holding his hand out to her. She took it. "Let's go up to your apartment." He pulled her inside, as the doorman greeted them.
After they entered the elevator, Norton turned towards the woman who was still in the hypnotic trance. "What's your name?"
"Michelle," she said, still in a monotone voice.
"That's a nice name. Are you a CEO?"
"Yes."
"I figured as much."
When they got to the 38th floor, the doors opened and they walked down the hallway to Michelle's door.
"Open it," Norton said.
Michelle did as he said and they both walked inside, closing the door behind them.
Now that they were alone, Norton's tests could really begin.
"Now, Michelle ..." he began, smiling.
