Suddenly, the room was bathed in light. It wasn't overly bright, but it seemed that way at first, since the room was previously completely black with darkness.
As Julie's eyes adjusted to the light, she saw an older man with bushy gray hair. With his white lab coat, he made Julie think immediately of a mad scientist. Like one from a movie. But this was no movie.
He turned towards her and looked at her through the side of the cage. There was a wild, almost insane, look in his eyes. Then he smiled and clapped excitedly. "Ah ha! Two more subjects!"
Subjects? Julie didn't like the sound of that.
