I was still in the cryo chamber. The doctors said that this was a possibility, that I could wake up without anyone around to help me get out. They placed a sort of "emergency exit" device inside the chamber, and I used it.
The fact that no one was around to help me was a little worrisome. I was expecting to wake up to a busy lab filled with eager scientists and learned men and women, hoping to meet the man from two-hundred years in their past.
But when I exited the chamber, there was no one. I was alone.
