Jeremy sat up a bit, as he watched Seth dash towards Sarah, promptly conking the bimbo on the head and freeing the damsel in distress.
After falling into a coughing fit, Sarah looked around. "Where's ... the ... other ..."
"The other girl?" Seth finished her sentence. "I don't know."
"How ... did ... you ..." Sarah tried to ask, catching her breath.
"It seemed hopeless there for a minute, but I kept on pushing myself and I eventually got out." Seth looked down at the brown muck-filled pool. "You do not want to go in that."
"Where ... Jeremy ..."
"He's over there," Seth said, pointing.
As they approached him, Sarah noticed that he was bleeding. She quickened her pace and tried her best to help him, ripping off part of her sleeve and wrapping it around his neck.
Jeremy smiled and nodded at her. But then his smile faded, as horror filled his eyes.
"What?" Sarah asked. She turned and followed his gaze up to the third floor of the hotel. She saw a man dressed in a suit and tie. He was far away so he was kind of hard to see, but she could have sworn that the guy was smiling. At them.
Jeremy tried to get up, but moaned in pain. "Lizzy."
"Lizzy?" Sarah asked. "What about her?"
"Hotel," Jeremy said. He was finding it harder and harder to talk.
"Lizzy's in the hotel?" Seth asked.
"Third," Jeremy said. "Third ... floor."
Seth and Sarah looked at each other, then back at the hotel. The man was gone from the window, but that didn't mean that he wasn't still on the third floor.
