He looked behind himself. He saw details in the snow he wouldn't have noticed before. His eyes had changed like the rest of him. Adapted to this new landscape, just like ... no, it couldn't be ... but they had been adapted too. "Suth! Suruh! Luzzuh!" Their names were barely recognizable in his new voice.
Three creatures covered in white fur shambled toward him. One was obviously male and the other two were obviously female. What were they saying? "Juh-ruh-muh!"
Jeremy waved a claw at them. At least we're all in this together, he thought. But for how long? When will we be human again? Or are we doomed to live the rest of our lives here, wherever this is?
"Uhgluh!" grunted one of the girls who pointed her claw at something in the distance. Jeremy couldn't tell if she was Sarah or Lizzy. He squinted and recognized an igloo on the horizon.
Maybe they weren't alone out here. But was someone home, and would the igloo-dweller be friend or foe?
