The man obviously expected to see himself in the reflection, but the person staring back at him was anyone but himself. In fact, it was a cat. Not even a person at all.
"How the hell is that possible?" the man asked, reaching out to touch the mirror. When he did, there was a flash of blue light. Then his body suddenly fell to the floor in a slump and began to make purring noises. He had swapped minds with that house cat.
Ally laughed, then said "Serves you right, you fucking bastard." She paused, thinking about what she just said, then dismissed it. She checked around to make sure she was the only one there, then grabbed the mirror. It had apparently already shimmered again, because it was back to being just a regular old mirror.
Then Ally left the storage facility and found her car parked outside. Eric's car, she had to correct herself. It was difficult to separate her own memories with that of Eric Fuller (the pothead she was currently possessing). She knew that it was the mirror and her own carelessness that had made this situation possible, but she didn't know how to undo it. For now, she'd have to learn to live Eric's life. But that shouldn't have been too difficult, since she apparently had all of Eric's memories. But who was in control of his body? Ally felt like she was, but she could fee Eric's influence over her. His attitude, his addictions. They were just too strong for Ally to overcome.
She dug into Eric's pockets and found the car keys. Then she unlocked his car.
