Ally paced back and forth. She only had a few seconds to figure out what to say.
"Ally? Did you hear me?" she heard her grandmother say. She was walking up the stairs.
"Hey, kid," her grandfather said. "I need to get a fix."
"Not now," she snapped.
While she was thinking of something, she saw the mirror shimmer blue. Thinking that maybe she could get her grandfather back, she ran to the mirror. But instead of the storage room that she saw before, she saw a bedroom. It looked like it might have belonged to a teenage boy.
"Ally?" her grandmother asked. She was right outside in the hall.
In the mirror, Ally saw a boy putting a T-shirt on. He looked oddly at Ally, then stuck out his hand towards her. And at the same time, Ally did the same.
As Ally's grandmother entered the room, there was a blue flash of light and Ally switched places with the boy in the mirror.
Ally looked at the mirror and saw herself. Then the glass shimmered blue and she saw the boy. She was the boy and she was seeing his reflection.
She turned around and looked at the strange bedroom. Where was she? Who was she?
