The purple light only lasted a few seconds, but when it was gone, something was definitely different, because everyone in the room, including Dawn, was in a trance, staring straight ahead and not blinking.
The entrance to the café opened and a man walked in. He peered around the room and smiled. "Ahh, this is good. Very good."
He walked to the center of the room and said "You will all obey me. You will all do whatever I ask of you. Do you understand?"
Everyone in the room simultaneously said "Yes, Master."
The man smiled and rubbed his hands together. "This is going to be fun."
