As they pondered what could have happened, the creature purred again, then jumped out of Tim's arms.
"Hey, where's it going?" Tim asked.
The creature just stood in the middle of the room, like it was waiting for something.
"I don't think it's going anywhere," David commented.
At that moment, Richard came back. "We've got the fire out. Everything's ... oh god! What the hell is that?!" he said, pointing at the creature.
"It's okay. We think it's harmless," David said, settling him down.
"Where did it come from?" Richard asked. Then he looked at the object through the glass. "Did it come from The Box?"
"We don't know. But it seems likely," David said.
"What's it doing?" Richard asked, looking a little closer at the small creature.
"I think it's waiting for something," Tim said.
"Waiting for what?"
