Charlie held his breath, although he wasn't exactly sure why. He was going to be immersed in fire, not water.
And then it happened. The dragon breathed its fire.
But Charlie didn't feel anything. He looked down at himself and saw that his clothes were burned to a crisp, but that was all. His skin wasn't burnt at all. Oh, maybe it looked somewhat sunburned, but he was hardly in need of an ambulance. After watching the terrible fate of those archers, he thought he would be writhing in agony right now. But he wasn't.
He looked down the tunnel, but saw that the dragon was gone. He could see the mouth of the tunnel, which was still bathed in sunlight.
What had happened? Was he invincible or something? How was this possible?
