"I know it's a bit cramped, but you'll soon see it as home," Colonel White said, showing Charlie his quarters.
"It's okay," Charlie said, looking around the small room, which only included a bed and a small table. He supposed that under the circumstances, though, this would probably be seen as luxury.
"Get some rest. You'll need it," White said, then left Charlie's quarters and headed down the hall back towards the elders' chamber.
Charlie peeked out into the hall and watched as Matt Hendricks urgently approached the colonel. "Sir, we've had reports of increased squid sightings. They're looking for something. Or someone."
Colonel White looked in Charlie's direction, then persuaded Hendricks to come with him further down the hall. Apparently, he didn't want Charlie to overhear them.
Seeing that he probably wasn't going to get any more answers, Charlie decided to take the colonel's advice. He shut the door to his quarters, then proceeded to take a nap. After that long journey through the tunnel and then the forest, he really needed some sleep.
