"So, what do I do now?" Charlie asked.
"Obviously, you'll have to stay here with us. We need to make sure that you stay safe."
"Because I'm an outlander?"
"That's right," the woman said. "Whoever brought you to this planet is probably looking for you. As long as you stay with us, we can use you to find out more about who this person is and what he wants. I'm sure he'll be most forthcoming once he finds out that we have you."
"Use me?"
"Just as bait. But I assure you. This place is completely safe. At least it has been for the last forty years." She paused for a second. "We'll find some quarters for you." She turned her attention to White. "Can you deal with this matter, Colonel?"
"Yes, ma'am." He looked at Charlie. "Come with me." He opened the door and they both left the room.
