After another fifteen minutes of walking, they finally made it to what Davis apparently considered to be "safety" ... a cave.
They walked inside and then downwards, further into whatever this planet was. And as they did, it got darker and darker, and noticeably colder and colder. Even colder than that tunnel that Charlie woke up in. And even dressed in his salesman suit, he was still shivering from the cold. But then it began to warm up as they entered a part of the cave where the darkness began to recede. This part of the cave was lit up by torches hanging off of the walls.
"You live here?" Charlie asked.
The moment he did, he was startled by a number of people jumping out of the darkness and into the torch-lit part of the cavern. Just like Davis, they were all wearing animal skins. Almost like they were ... cavemen. Except, they spoke English, sort of.
