Charlie walked through the streets for another hour before he was completely confident that there really was no one there. No one except for him, that was.
He sighed, wondering what he should do. He thought about going home, but what difference would it make? Everyone he knew was apparently gone now and he obviously didn't have to worry about work anymore. He of course always wanted time off, but he never wanted this. He just didn't know what to do. With no one around, his options were limited.
Of course, he could take advantage of the situation and go on a looting spree, but Charlie wasn't the type of person who would do that sort of thing. Regardless, though, he still needed food and water, if he decided to stick around. So, he'd probably have to steal something eventually, just for survival. But he wasn't there yet.
He sat down on the curb and looked around at the empty streets, the empty stores, empty buildings, wondering what happened to everyone.
