Charlie walked out of the bedroom and down the hall. It appeared to be a one-story house. After going to the kitchen, he got himself something to drink. He never thought water tasted so good. It was actually the first time he even ate or drank anything since ... well, before he woke up in that tunnel. It seemed like nearly an eternity since then, but really, it had been less than a day.
He walked to the window and looked out. In the distance, he could see the Los Angeles skyline. He must have been in the suburbs.
Suddenly, the night sky changed from black to red. It was so weird seeing the stars in a sea of red.
"Not tonight," Charlie said.
A few seconds later, the sky returned to normal.
Then Charlie went back to bed.
