Charlie solemnly got dressed. He felt like he had a connection with Ann and besides that, the sex was great. And now she was gone. Probably forever. All because of the stupid sky and whatever was happening to him in this city.
He looked at himself in the mirror. It was noticeable that his "new" body was a mix between the two. But, of course, he'd be the only one to notice. No one but him would ever remember Ann or Rachel even existing. Or even Vicky, for that matter. Because of him, they were all gone, as if they had never existed in the first place.
Once he was dressed (in a T-shirt, jeans, and a pair of low-heeled shoes), he grabbed Rachel's purse (well, it wasn't actually Rachel's anymore - not now) and left the apartment. Charlie needed answers, and he was going to get them.
As he walked down the hall, he saw a girl and her mother walk past. He stopped suddenly and turned his head, watching the two of them walk to the end of the hall. It was the mother and daughter from the minivan. What was the chance that he'd see them again and so soon?
He was about to turn back around and keep walking, but stopped when he saw which door the mother was opening. They're my neighbors? Charlie thought, astonished. What was the chance of that?
