Charlie looked around, trying to see if he knew where he was. With all that happened, he never got a chance to just stop and look.
It was the corner of Fourth and Main. At least he was still in Los Angeles. But which Los Angeles? Was this his L.A., or was it a different one, like the empty one he woke up in? It seemed like his, but he wasn't totally sure.
He just had too many questions. But knowing that he was in L.A. helped. Perhaps he could find someone that he knew. It was a big town, but being an insurance salesman, Charlie knew people.
Charlie shifted through the woman's purse, looking for a cellphone. But instead he found her ID. Her name was Victoria Ann. Presumably, her first name came from Vicky.
"Ann!" a man yelled, running towards Charlie, behind him. He grabbed Charlie's shoulder, startling him.
He turned around and saw a man dressed in a suit and tie. The woman Charlie was now possessing must have used her middle name, instead of her first.
"It's a pretty long walk. Are you sure you don't want to take a cab?"
"Uh ... sure," Charlie said. He had no idea who this guy was, but he was willing to go along with him, for the moment.
The man hailed a cab and they both got inside. He told the cabby where to go, and the taxi took off. Charlie knew the place, it was only about a mile down the road. But it didn't match the address on Ann's ID. So where was he going?
