"Vicky, you're scaring me," one of the girls said. "Say something."
"I'm fine," Charlie said. It was so weird hearing a girl's voice as his own. No matter how many times that had already happened, it still felt strange to him. "Really."
The girl sighed, then smiled. "For a minute there, I thought ..."
Suddenly, the sky turned an eerie green color. Then a second later, it was back to normal. Charlie looked around. Hadn't anyone else seen that? At the moment, it seemed that Charlie was the only one that noticed.
"Vicky?" the girl asked, grabbing Charlie's bare arm. He braced himself for the suction sensation, but it never came. Something was wrong. Why didn't he hop into the girl's body? He had already done it with the woman, the little girl, the cop, and the guy. But then he remembered the green sky. Could the sky turning color be affecting him in some way? At first, he wasn't too wild about his seemingly uncontrollable ability to "hop" bodies, but now he wanted it back.
He didn't want to stay in this girl's body. But at the moment, it seemed he was stuck there.
