They entered a room at the back of the mansion and found a male vampire sitting on a gaudy throne, as if he were some kind of king.
He didn't stand up or even become alarmed when they came in and approached him. But he did become concerned as to why one of his sisters was with another vampire he didn't know.
"Elizabeth," he said. "Come here."
"She won't do as you ask," Jason said. "She's with me now. I'm her elder."
"You can't be. I've never seen you before. Where did you come from?"
"Narayanne."
"What did you say?"
"Narayanne," Jason repeated.
"It can't be. She's been ..."
Jason approached the elder, leaving behind his sisters. "Do you know her?"
"I've heard stories. Ancient stories. Legends, even. But she's not a vampire."
"What? Then what is she?"
"A demon. She toys with mortals and immortals alike. If she turned you, then she's only using you for her own purposes. And her purposes are never good."
"I don't care."
"What?" the elder said.
"I don't care if she's a vampire or a demon or even a human. She gave me a gift and I intend to use it." Then he said "Elizabeth, come here."
She obeyed her elder and walked up next to Jason. "Yes?"
"Kill him," he ordered.
She smiled and approached her former elder.
"What have you done to her?" the elder asked.
"I turned her. Now she's mine."
"That's forbidden. The others won't let this stand. They'll ..." He never got to finish his sentence. Elizabeth broke his neck, then ripped his head off, throwing it across the room, sending blood spraying everywhere.
"Oh Elizabeth," Jason said, faking concern. "You got blood on your white dress."
"I'm not really a white fan anymore, anyway," she said, walking back to Lisa. Then she ran her hand over her sister's corset. "I think I'll wear black from now on."
"It would look good on you," Lisa said.
Jason hefted the elder's body off the throne and sat down in it himself. The former elder's blood coated most of it, but Jason didn't care. This was his throne now. This was his mansion.
His.
